Daniel was initially working with a different traditional ADU builder. He was getting very frustrated with the entire process and hassle of dealing with permits, contractors, and being the point of contact for all of the parties involved. Shortly after, he decided to opt out and switch builders. That was when he found Mighty Buildings. The Abdou family have been on the search for the perfect ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) for their backyard for many years. Having to raise two kids with a full time job left them with no time for themselves, let alone the process of hiring multiple contractors and a project manager to realize this dream of having a backyard pool house.

When asked why they chose to build an ADU and a pool cabana in the backyard, their answer was simple. They wanted to keep their parents close while maintaining their own space. Now their in-laws and guests can visit and stay over at ease, without worrying about feeling cramped up. According to the Abdou's, their family and friends basically said it felt like a luxury hotel to them.

It started off as a vacant space in the backyard. As Joe toyed with ideas on how to enhance their backyard, Joe decided a pool house would make a great addition. And voila - Mighty Studio was the perfect fit!

"There were a few phases, the construction phase where they put the foundation in and all of a sudden they are craning the unit, and it's pretty much done. So it took really really fast, which surprised me." said Joe Abdou, proud dad and happy owner of a 350 sq ft Mighty Studio. "I am actually really happy with it." Joe adds.
