How Can an ADU help me?
ADU stands for Accessory Dwelling Unit. There are many uses and other terms used for an ADU, but the most common terms are "guest house," "in-law unit," or "carriage house". In the case of the fires, an ADU can be used as a temporary living space for those who are rebuilding their homes. After the main home is rebuilt, the ADU can be converted into any other intended use.

Mighty Buildings' Light Stone Material (LSM) has a Class A Flame Spread Rating.

_______

Local building codes often require the use of fire retardant materials. These materials are classified by their impact on the spread of flames. The degree to which a given material accomplishes this task is defined as its "flame spread rating." This rating provides the relative rate at which a flame can spread across the surface of a treated material. The class rating goes as follows:

  • Class A fire retardants are considered effective against severe fire exposure.
  • Class B fire retardants are considered effective against moderate fire exposure
  • Class C fire retardants are considered effective against light fire exposure.
  • Class D and E materials are not considered effective against any fire exposure.
